So now I know what I did wrong: I have to save the graphics as plain .png then load them in draw9patch and then use save-as to save them as .9.png.
Would be Ok if only draw9patch would not do all load and save as from and to the users home directory. Does any developer keeps his sources in his home directory? Is it really that difficult to determine the current directory? Or the directory of the file just loaded?
